Cannonball and Harvey show

Welcome to “The Cannonball and Harvey Show”. These programs are dedicated to the early days of radio comedy acts. We will be offering our own joke routines. You can be a star if your favorite joke is chosen for us to perform in the Harvey Humdinger. Just go to that segment and type it in the blog entry. Or, if you or someone is having a birthday, go ahead and post it in the Birthday song segment. Comedy acts in the early days relied on one comic who plays the straight man, setting up big laughs for the other. But a winning comedy duo requires great chemistry, exceptional writing, and even the ability to adlib. Some of the greats were Abbott and Costello, Martin and Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, Burns and Allen….and list goes on and on.

So sit back and go back and enjoy the jokes, routines, songs and fun re-enacted here.

Tell a friend or two. Go ahead email, tweet, or facebook one of your favorite segments.

“Cannonball and Harvey were pioneers on radio. Yeah, they were the first to be turned off.” “During the songs you’ll notice Harvey’s voice is like a drowned seaman – it dies at C.”
